About Me

I’m Tamika Harris, a dancer and choreographer with over 20 years of experience in African and Afro-Caribbean dance. Trained at the Malonga Center for the Arts under masters Malonga Casquelourd and Mohammed Kemko Sanu, I’ve performed with renowned companies including Fua Dia Congo, Diamano Coura, and Rara Tou Limen.

My journey has taken me to Guinea, Senegal, and Haiti, where I earned certifications from Les Ballets Africains and ENARTS Foundation. I’ve performed internationally and shared the stage with world-class artists like Youssou N’Dour. Choreographed for the award-winning Karibbean Vibrationz MasBand, I continue to celebrate and preserve cultural traditions through dance.

YONIS PRATT BORN AND RAISED IN OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA. A LOVING DAUGHTER AND MOTHER OF TWO. YONIS LOVES TO DANCE AND HAS DANCED FOR SIX YEARS. YONIS DANCE SKILL IS DANCEHALL, HIPHOP, AND TRADITIONAL WEST AFRICAN DANCE. YONIS JOINED CALIWYND LEAD BY SHEMICA JOHNSON THERE SHE DEEPENED HER SKILLS IN AFRO HAITIAN, DANCEHALL AND HIPHOP. YONIS CURRENTLY DANCES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF TAMIKA HARRIS CREATOR OF AFRIKAWEDANCE SHE IS A PRINCIPAL TEAM WIN DANCERS STUDYING TRADITIONAL CENTRAL AND WEST AFRICAN DANCE.

Iyani Ison

IYANI LOPEZ-ISON IS ONE WHO HAS AN INTIMATE CONNECTION WITH DANCE. SHE ATTENDED COLE PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL AT AGE 10, WHERE SHE BEGAN LANDING ROLES AS A PRINCIPAL DANCER IN PRODUCTIONS LIKE “THE COTTON CLUB”, “FAME”, “WEST SIDE STORY” AND “DO THE RIGHT THING”. HER STUDIES OF DANCE LEAD HER TO THE EAST BAY CENTER OF THE PERFORMING WHERE SHE AGAIN LANDED SEVERAL ROLES AS A PRINCIPAL DANCER IN THEIR RENDITION OF “THE WIZ” AND “BATMAN”. BY THE TIME IYANI WAS 15, SHE WAS DANCING PROFESSIONALLY FOR DANCE A VISION DANCE COMPANY AND WAS A FEATURED IN THEIR RENDITION OF “THE HIP HOP CHORUS LINE”. SHE CONTINUED HER STUDY OF DANCE AT THE MALONGA ARTS CENTER AND DESTINY ARTS CENTER UNTIL 2015, WHEN SHE JOINED AFRIKAWEDANCE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF TAMIKA HARRIS. CURRENTLY, IYANI IS A PRINCIPAL DANCER OF AFRIKAWEDANCE.
